If your answer is yes, what do you wish conserve? If it is limited government, freedom, individual liberty, then you are what I would call a Jeffersonian Conservative. What this means is that you are a person who wishes to "conserve" the above principles of the radicals of the American Revolution and the Revolution of 1800, a Jeffersonian Revolution.

Now, I am not talking about Neo-Conservatives whose main hero is monarchist Edmund Burke. I am talking about a conservative who wishes to perserve the principles of Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, John Taylor of Caroline, etc. Men who believed in radical notions of individual liberty, freedom on conscience, republican government, low taxes, and were against standing armies. These principles are true conservatism. They are the antithesis of what the Neo-Cons are today and a total 360 from the modern leftist liberals and Democrats of today.

I am talking about yesterday's radical principles as today's conservative values.
Honest people can disagree about gay marriage, abortion, crime and other so called "conservative" issues. The ultimate goal is the preservation of liberty and the thwarting of despotism.

Hold your head high. Be a conservative, but be a Jeffersonian Conservative, that is, one who wishes to conserve the limited government, freedom oriented society created by our forefathers.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-15562916393581831312012-04-08T22:10:00.002-07:002012-04-08T22:11:38.302-07:00Coming BackHi all. Religion is collectivism and collectivism is a religion. They are symbiotic twins that feed on their host...the human mind.

From the Pagan Mayans, Aztecs, to the Roman Catholic and Protestant Christian sects, and Jewish and Islamic religions, collectivism has been the linchpin holding these pious frauds together. All of these organized religions preach self-sacrifice for the tribe, and slavery of the mind. It matters not whether it is a Mayan priest sarificing a young child, the Catholic Holy Inquisition with it's burnings, or modern day Islamic suicide bombers, hatred of the self and exahaltation of the tribe and collective are paramount.

Collectivism is insidious because it enslaves the mind. It creates mental slavery, passivity, and eventually self destruction.

The enemies of collectivism and religion have paved the way for us. Many of these heretics paid with their lives. Many were tortured but in the long run their revolt against ancient superstition has led the way for enlightenment and science. Men like Giordano Bruno, Galileo, Copernicus, Spinoza, Paine, Jefferson, Bakunin, all doubted the belief in faith over reason and science. All have contributed to the birth of modernity and the rejection of the ancient world.

Modern day collectivism is just as dangerous. It is full of right wing and left wing statists and facsists. Leftist collectivists want to control your economic life, tax you to death, confiscate your wealth and give it to the non productive. Right wing collectivists support Banksters, corporations, globalists, and the wealthy elite over the masses. Both hate freedom.

Collectivism is a dangerous fraud, and collectivists dangerous people. To the collectivists, whether religious or secular, independent thought, questioning authority, and speaking out are forms of mental illness. Obedience is demanded by the collectivist, usually at the end of a barrel of a gun.

Religion, whether secular or superstitious, destroys the human mind and annhilates critical thinking.Take a stand. Think for yourself. Reject religion, and collectivism. Save humanity from these ancient evils!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-40870611901175994242010-05-31T20:36:00.000-07:002010-05-31T20:49:41.107-07:00Break the Chains that Bind You!Break the chains that bind you! Governments, organized religions, corporations, social pressures, and most of all, you own mind, are holding you back!

We all only have one go around in this life. Enjoy it. Strive, and be free. Don't wait for some metaphysical afterlife. If there isn't one, you'll have wasted the only life you have being chained by the things I delineated above. Throughout history human beings have allowed themselves to be ruled by aristocracies, monarchies, nobles, and collectivists. Now it is our time! Liberate yourself first, before you try to liberate the world.

Day in and day out, we are bombarded with messages telling us to conform, obey, and follow our "leaders." Fuck that! Learn about yourself. Find out what makes YOU happy. Cast aside all of the petty tyrants at home, work, or in political office that want you to do what THEY want. They are the selfish ones. They want you to give up your mind and life. Don't buy it. It is pure snake oil. Reject these charlatans for the frauds they are.

Long Live liberty! Long Live Freedom! Increasingly, the tax revolt movement is being infiltrated and absorbed by the GOP and the neoconservative right. These folks are not libertarians, and love big government, and high taxes to support their welfare/warfare state. Huge standing armies, worldwide military bases and occupations, and massive defensive spending is as bad, if not worse than welfare spending at home.

The GOP is full of frauds (outside of Ron Paul)and is nothing more than the other side of the coin on the corrupt Left/Right spectrum. I encourage all libertarians to form your own organizations, maybe call them Liberty Rallies, and take back the freedom movement. I have never supported the union with the Right proposed by many libertartians. The Right is just as much the enemy of liberty as the left.

Let organize, protest, and make some noise. Rally to the cause of liberty and the 10th Amendment and leave the Tea Party in the dust.

The real Tea Party was a revolutionary act, not the act of old, declaying neoconservatives with tea bags in their hands!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-181414006866278902010-03-20T05:37:00.000-07:002010-03-20T17:45:02.100-07:00Jefferson and CorporationsThomas Jefferson was a great and complex man. One of his greatest insights was his insight into the evil and immorality of private banking. Jefferson saw banks as evil, money hungry institutions that would destroy the liberty and independence of the common laborer. He knew that large concentrations of material wealth in society would result in the domination of the American Republic and the creation of a class of wage slaves.

Although Jefferson was not a socialist, he definately was not a modern "free market" capitalist in which the state takes no role in the economy. Jefferson was for limited government and yet at the same time for control of corporations such as banks, and other monopolies. He rightly predicted that banking corporations were going to impoverish and deplete the American people of their hard earned money and liberty through fractional reserve banking, fraudulent lending, and monopoly charters.

The Iron Heel I described in my earlier post is the very thing Jefferson warned us about. Massive corporations taking over the government, through lobbying (bribery), and by placing these bribed politicians into the halls of Congress. Once this happened, economic slavery was inevitable. If the American people don't wake up soon, we will as Jefferson stated wake up "homeless on the continent our fathers conquered."

Right now the Iron Heel is hard at work destroying the American worker through phony "free trade" agreements, monopoly banking, big government, high taxation, massive inflation of the dollar, and the increasing miltarization of the police.

God help us all if the Iron Heel takes over the country completely.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-62026519452644011352010-02-15T17:04:00.001-08:002010-02-15T17:21:19.189-08:00The Iron HeelJack London's obscure work "The Iron Heel" is a book about a socialist revolution against a tyrannical government run by "the Oligarchy." This "Oligarchy" is a government run by huge corporations, trusts, and powerful wealthy interests. Although based on a socialist revolution, it is a great novel and very appropriate to today.

Today we are controlled by a powerful mass media made up of huge, powerful and wealthy corporations. They are augmented by a enormous military-industrial complex which is fed by death, and destruction across the globe. The US Congress and Executive branch are controlled by these multi and transnational corporations, including the military industrial complex. The people we elect are nothing more than figureheads doing the bidding of bankers, industrialists, and other swindlers who feed from the public trough.

Where are we, the American people, left? Out in the cold I'm afraid. Our nation is not the beacon of liberty and freedom it once was. Now,we are a nation of conquerors and warmongers, who create new enemies as fast as we vanquish the previous ones.

Today, we stand on precipice. If the defenders and champions of liberty, and justice do not rise up, we will soon be consumed by the evil forces ruling our world.

If you haven't read it already I suggest you read Jack London's "Iron Heel." London was very perceptive and a man far ahead of his time. He saw our republic consumed by Big Business and corporate power. We must stop the "Iron Heel" before it is too late!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-4757460204218378082009-10-03T13:45:00.000-07:002009-10-03T14:26:45.518-07:00Deism-The way to God and LibertyI am currently reading Thomas Paine's great expose' on organized religion, The Age of Reason. Since I am already a Deist, Mr. Paine is preaching to the choir. In the book, Paine shows how the Creator can be found, not in a man made book, but rather, in the world and universe around us.

He demolishes the lies and fabrications of the Bible like a surgeon with a scalpel. He clearly lays out the superstition, fear, violence and pornography the Bible is made up of. He also reminds us that the books of the Bible were voted on by councils of the ancient Roman Catholic Church. Many were rejected as not being "divinely inspired" and others were added for the same reason. The Bible has been used for 2,000 years to enslave and keep people docile and ignorant. Deism, on the other hand, liberates mans mind and encourages him to use the reason God has given him.

Deism and libertarian beliefs are highly compatible. Deism promotes reason, rationality, and open mindedness, as does much, but not all, of liberatiaran thought.
Deists like Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, Thomas Paine all contributed to the first nation (United States) to reject state sponsored religion, and allow freedom of conscience. Deists were usually in the forefront of promoting religious liberty, repeal of blasphemy and "blue" laws, repeal of religious distinctions for voting, and a belief in the brotherhood of mankind.

"Revealed" religions like Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all promote the belief that only THEY have the way to God and truth. Their "holy" books all are rife with contridictions, and absurdities. All have have some kind of special priesthood, who of course have a direct connection to the Creator of the Universe. This "priest craft" as it was called by Jefferson and Paine, has an agenda. The agenda is power, domination, and the fleecing of the ignorant. They all pit their faiths against each other, yet all claim to worship the same God! In Christianity alone, there are thousands of denominations, all whom hate and revile each other over dogmas usually incomprehensible to them all.

Deism frees the mind and allows one to appreciate the Creator without dogma, doctrine, or rules. This is the liberty that Deism provides to one who sees the beauty, and awesomeness of the Universe and the power of the Creator's design. From the smallest atoms, DNA, to the largest galaxy, there is an order to the Universe of an intelligent design.

We also must recognize that the Creator has implanted in each creature on Earth the desire to be free. Neither animals or humans like having their freedom or liberty taken away. This love of liberty exists in people, except the ones that crave power, like sociopaths and dictators.

Beware of organized religion and the lie it promotes telling you that you are "worthless", a "sinner", "evil", or "flawed." All such ideas are meant to control and dominate you. Embrace Deism and a path to God and Liberty.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-61718204446686361322009-07-16T16:11:00.000-07:002009-07-16T16:15:04.856-07:00A New American Revolution,Part 2: BloodbathIn this post I will explore the potential results of a new revolution in America. Several years ago, I read a very thought provoking and frightening book called, Civil War 2 by author, Thomas Chittum. Chittum, an ex US Green Beret and a mercenary in the Yugoslavian civil war of the late 1990's, has been criticized as a racist, and fascist, of which he is neither. He is excoriated because he points out the glaring corruption and financial tyranny of the elite that rule this country. He also shows how these elites have eviscerated the principles of strict construction of the US Constitution, and have created a militarily powerful, yet very unstable and eventually unsustainable, empire. He shows how the American Republic has died and been replaced by the American Empire. Let's examine what has happened to the Republic.

Multiculturalism

Since the mid 1960's immigration, both legal and illegal, has transformed a once majority white society (90%), to a multi ethnic and multicultural nation. America once had a solid European culture. America was born out of the western tradition of the European Enlightenment which literally brought modern civilization to the world.
Separation of church and state, freedom of speech, freedom of association, negative liberty (freedom from coercive government), are all a result of the Anglo-American tradition. Most European minorities like Italians, Russians, Poles, Germans,French Swedes, Dutch, Greeks, Swiss, and Portuguese have easily assimilated into the Anglo-American tradition since the early 1900's. Immigrants since the 1965 Immigration Act have not done so well. Pakistanis, Afghans, Filipinos, Vietnamese, Laotian, Haitians, Cubans, Africans, Chinese, Mexicans and other ethnicities have poured into America. With the implementation of tyrannical affirmative action laws, these groups have clamored for an even bigger piece of the American pie, at the expense of European-Americans,who have been forced to sit on the sidelines and watch.

Most of the people come from nations with little or no historical tradition of liberty. The concept of individual liberty is a WESTERN ideal, and is not found among most other societies in the world. Since the Civil Rights era of the 1960's, laws instilling group rights, group identity, and frankly anti-white hate have permeated our culture. Affirmative Action, Quotas, Set Asides, and other "equal opportunity" laws have been passed with terrible results for us all. College campuses are hotbeds of leftism and cultural Marxism, and instill in young European Americans guilt, and shame, for crimes they have NEVER committed. Young whites are taught to feel eternally guilty for the crimes of whites in the past, and to believe that all minorities deserve jobs, promotions, and respect, no matter what. This has not completely worked. Many whites harbor deep resentment and hatred for these programs, but are afraid to speak out so as to prevent losing their jobs. Should there be a new revolution, complete with starvation, unemployment, gang warfare, and anarchy, the whites, who are still a majority, will certainly end up in mortal combat with most other "minorities." This bodes ill for us all.

Growing Centralization of Power

Every day more and more power is being centralized in the Federal government. Gun control laws, central economic planning, federal mandates on the states, and the growth of the power of federal law enforcement, are now the norm. The US military is planning for operations in the US. Along with mercenaries like Blackwater Corp, the US is being prepared for the militarization of our society. State and local police forces are already beholden to the federal government for funds and training.
Federal prosecutors and their friends in the lifetime appointed judiciary already show little respect for constitutional restrictions in the 4th, 5th or 6th amendments. Of course the Federal Reserve's massive financial authority and "contraction and expansion" of the American economy

Secessionist Movements

Fortunately, some states are starting to stand up to the US government. The state of Montana is preparing to nullify unconstitutional federal gun control laws. Secessionist movements exist in Vermont, New Hampshire, California, Montana, Hawaii, Maine, South Carolina, and Texas. Although they seemed laughable just a few years ago, these movements are gaining in popularity. Many Americans are tired of Washington, DC dictating to them. As the economy spirals out of control and the Federal Reserve contracts the money supply, we will see the advent of another depression causing many states who rely of the Federal Government to rethink that relationship.

Assault on America's Foundations

America was born out of a violent, radical revolution. All of the silly arguments from statist historians about it being a "conservative" revolution are totally absurd. The American Revolution was a revolution of libertarian principles against power. In every colony from 1765 to 1776, the mass of the people rose up against the elite. Led by radical voluntary associations like the Sons of Liberty, radical leaders like Samuel Adams, and sheer determination, the authority of the British government was literally destroyed in America. The Boston Tea Party, the burning of the British warship Gaspee, destruction of the homes of royal officials' homes, tarring and feathering of Tories, and the nullification of royal authority (Stamp Act,nonimportation agreements, etc) all contributed to the destruction of British government. Is this what is in store for the Federal Government? Chittum thinks so, but now with an ethnically diverse nation losing it's identity, massive violence is sure to follow. along with the tribalism that goes with "multicultural" societies. The old Soviet Union comes to mind. A nation of many ethnicities and races all thrown together at the end of a bayonet. Once the power structure began to crumble, there was no commonality to hold it together. Is this our future?

Political Correctness

Along with the above issues is the tyrannical glue that holds them all together: political correctness. This evil philosophy is the enemy of free speech, thought, and association, especially if your white. Political correctness if the cause of tyrannical "equal opportunity", "sexual harassment", affirmative action. These laws, and policies are intended to silence debate, and consider you guilty until proven innocent. They are normally used towards whites. This leftist abomination considers only whites racist, even though every culture and society has racism, or prejudice in it. In my experience, I have found many "minorities" that I have met very racist. They freely make fun of whites, and quickly label a white person racist if something doesn't go their way. This freedom hating philosophy has wormed it's way into every facet of our society, especially universities. Men like Jefferson, Washington, Madison, and other great men are tossed as aside as "dead white males." It has caused millions of young people, mainly whites, to be woefully ignorant of American history.

Conclusion</em

America is headed for big trouble. All of the points I have outlined above should show that. The real question is...will you survive it?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-2968073740655657682009-06-28T14:20:00.000-07:002009-06-28T14:23:47.164-07:00An American Revolution?Since October 2008 the American people have been fleeced of nearly 10 TRILLION dollars. This astronomical amount of money has gone to banks, and auto companies. When the economy and stock market first started falling apart in late October 2008, every chicken little on CNBC, CNN, FOX and in the Congress were calling on the federal government to bailout the banking and finance industry. We were told that if this did not happen, revolution, martial law, and a meltdown of our society would occur. Well...10 TRILLION dollars later, are we better off? NO! Hundreds of banks have went under, GM and Chrysler are bankrupt, and unemployment is rapidly rising. State governments, particularly here in California, are bankrupt and out of money. So what gives? Why are we worse off?

We are worse off because the money stolen from the American people was not intended to help people with their mortgages,or make credit easier. Instead the Federal Reserve has printed money with abandon and the banking corporations have seen us, the taxpayer, as their permenent piggy bank! This combination of business and government is creating a fascist state all wrapped up in the red, white and blue. If we don't disband the Federal Reserve, get our troops out of all the quagmires they are in around the globe, and toss out the whole corrupt bunch of politicians in Washington, DC,there will nothing left of America. America is teetering on the brink of revolution.

Think about the French Revolution. Why was it so violent? Why did it degenerate into massive violence? Well, first off the French monarchy was absolutist and corrupt. A massive royal bureaucracy and the powerful Catholic Church kept the people down through poverty, ignorance, and violence. When the revolution overthrew the king, and the bureaucracy, the pent up rage of the masses created a whirlwind of violence and destruction until the moderates took charge in 1795. Is America exempt from this? Are we similar to the French government? The answer is YES!

Our government is totally corrupt. The U.S. Congress is owned lock, stock and barrel by big business and banks. We, the American people mean very little to the politicians. These politicians are sowing the seeds of their own destruction. A new American revolution will make the French Revolution look like a child's birthday party. We are a mixture of ethnicities, races, religions, and socio-economic classes. This mixture is very volitile. If a revolution comes, one must be wary of a Lenin, Stalin, Mao, or Pol Pot coming to power instead of a Jefferson, Paine, or Madison.

American politicians need to wake up. Disembowel the Federal Reserve, bring the troops home, and restore constitutional government. Only then will America recover from this depression we are in, and maybe, just maybe, the politicians will save their skins.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-36232783944598892012009-06-13T05:17:00.000-07:002009-06-13T17:18:30.231-07:00A True Defense of CapitalismIn this essay I will lay out what I believe to be a true libertarian defense of capitalism. Many libertarians think they have a concept of economic liberty and capitalism, but they do not. Instead, they unwittingly defend the corporate/government complex, aristocracy. and government bureaucracy. Let's look at what capitalism is not.

Capitalism is not what we currently have in the USA. What we have is a form of fascism. Government and business in "partnership" with the government allowing private enterprise to exist,, but controlling it's use. This fascism is ruining America. Let me enlighten.

This fascism spawns all kinds of tyrannical laws: Anti-discrimination laws, environmental laws, eminent domain laws, zoning laws, bureaucratic "administrative" laws with no jury trial, health laws, "privacy" laws, etc. These laws are not promoting economic freedom, but are instead retarding it. They cause innumerable headaches for the people in business like lawsuits (governmental and private), compliance costs (passed on to consumers), requirements for insurance, and other bureaucratic regulations which help slow economic growth and success. This form of fascism has it 's roots in the Old World of Europe. It stems from the European ideal of man as a ward, or more appropriately, a serf of the state. Some libertarians don't recognize this and they defend what they believe to be capitalism from this perspective. Let us examine this.

Many libertarians will defend any attack on "Big Business", or corporations as anti-capitalism. They will also unwittingly defend such ancient despot isms as feudalism, strong central government, and aristocracy as parts of capitalism. Aristocracy, feudalism and powerful government are the antithesis of true capitalism. European aristocrats gained power, money and prestige through the rape, pillage and exploitation of their people. They were not entrepreneurs and fighters for free markets. They hated freedom and free markets. They were an arm of the state, or king. The nobility of Europe "earned" their money through serfdom, slavery, guilds, mercantilism, and other forms of anti-capitalism. Even though this has been thoroughly documented by great libertarians like Murray Rothbard. Here is a link to a great article by Rothbard on the American Revolutionhttp://www.lewrockwell.com/rothbard/rothbard121.html.Many libertarians still continue to defend the ideals of Edmund Burke: feudalism, state supported religion, and an elite governing a society. Why? Why would defenders of man's liberty reject true capitalism and freedom for this nonsense? I say because they are not really libertarians. They are either conservatives in libertarian clothing, or flat out fascists hiding their true desire for power and dominance under the cloak of libertarianism. I am particularly disturbed by such "anarcho-capitalists" like Hans Hermann Hoppe who seems to enjoy the concept of feudalism, and monarchy all the while claiming to be a market anarchist. Sounds a little strange, huh? Several months ago, on the great Strike the Root website, writer Douglas Herman called Edmund Burke an "anarchist". Huh? Has Mr. Herman ever read "Reflections on the Revolution in France"? A more pure defense of tradition, monarchy, aristocracy, mercantilism, and theocracy could not be written, Mr. Burke's previous more libertarian writings aside. Mr. Herman goes on to talk briefly about Burke's support for the American Revolution. Burke did support the Revolution, only as a defense of "English liberties" not as a natural right to liberty. Burke only defended the Revolution because he saw the English government violating English tradition, something Burke worshipped.

American libertarianism is the more radical wing of the wonderful tradition of Anglo-American libertarian theory. State supported religion, laws banning religious minorities from voting and holding office, quit rants, primogeniture and entail of estates, serfdom, slavery, etc are just a few of the ancient relics swept aside by the radicalism of the American Revolution. Now slavery took much longer due to it's entrenchment in the South, but it too fell away, albeit by war. Men like Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, James Madison, and other Jeffersonian Republicans attempted to keep the radical fire alive in the ensuing years after the Revolution. They only partially succeeded. We must be thankful for how far they have taken us, but we must press progress forward. That progress is best led by capitalism.

Capitalism made America Modern

It is capitalism and the freedom it creates that has made America a
mighty and advanced nation. Free trade between nations and individuals
is the corrosive acid that melts away feudalism and despotism. Capitalism allows for individuals to manage their own lives without harming others. This only works when government steps aside and allows people to be free. Modernity was a direct result of the American Revolution. The former colonists, freed from their mercantilist bondage of the British navigation acts, created the most explosive expansion of trade, commerce and business enterprise. The American standard of living, already higher than in most of the world, was raised tremendously. This new found liberty and freedom molded Americans into self reliant, open minded, and enterprising people. Was America perfect? No not at all. Slavery still existed in the South, and corporations were flexing their muscle in attempting to create a new American type of mercantilism. Since nothing is perfect, I do not wallow in immolating the American Revolution or the American Republic. The American Revolution and it results changed the world. The capitalism that was created made America the first modern nation.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-40987223954333529932009-04-16T16:02:00.000-07:002009-04-16T14:52:58.552-07:00World EnlightenmentBeginning in English Revolution of the 1640's through the American and French Revolutions of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, the great march of progress has transformed the world. The revolutions in science and industry, combined with the powerful intellectual empiricism of the Enlightenment, has truly made the world a better place. The Enlightenment was like a corrosive acid burning a hole through ages of religious superstition, mysticism, and ignorance. We still have a long way to go, but with the rise of freethought, and Deism, we can hopefully complete what Thomas Paine originally wanted to do, enlighten the world. We still have a long way to go.

Currently, the three monotheistic religions of the world, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, still hold a powerful grip on the minds of the people of the world. In Islamic nations women are brutally oppressed, forbidden to vote or go to school, show their bodies, pick their own spouse, drive, drink alcohol or take drugs, have sex before marriage, and all enforced by a government dominated by imans, and monarchs.

In The United States, and other western nations, the tyranny is more subtle. Modern Christians demand prayer in schools, the banning of Darwin's Origin of the Species, bans on contraception and abortion, posting of the Ten Commandments in the courtrooms, blind support for Israel, using taxpayer dollars, etc. All of this is a revolt against modernity. The modern world, birthed in the Age of the Enlightenment, is still a threat to religious zealots of all stripes, and their control of societies and governments. Throughout history, religious leaders, and established churches have always been enemies of freedom. Thomas Jefferson put it best " In every country, and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty, always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses for the protection of his own." Revealed religious leaders of the seventeenth century through the present have consistently waged war on science, knowledge, and personal liberty.

Is it possible to free the people of the Earth from the tyranny of revealed religion? I believe it is. Sadly, the people of Islamic nations suffer the worst of religious tyranny, superstition, and intolerance. All believers in progress, liberty and the spirit of tolerance, should strive to provide knowledge and new ideas to the people of these nations. As a Deist and a libertarian, I believe it is imperative to start now if we are to free the world from oppression. I plan on being a Deist evangelist, so to speak. I would like to spread Deism through the works of Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, John Toland, and other great deists. Islamic nations need great works like Jefferson's writings, the Declaration of Independence, and the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. To make this happen, the people of these nations must be educated to overthrow their horrible rulers and imans. The revolutionary power of the Internet will be needed for this. If we can liberate their minds, they too, can join in the modern world, and free their societies from revealed religion.

We also must start by working in our own country, the United States. Read Paine's the Age of Reason, John Toland's Christianity Not Mysterious, and the writings of other American Revolutionaries like Samuel Adams, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, etc. These courageous men, with the exception of Samuel Adams, were not Bible thumping Christians, but instead were rationalists and deists. The world can be enlightened. Look how far we've come since the first revolution in England in 1640, only 360 years ago.

I believe that we must saturate our society with Deist values. We must cease to be polite and afraid to offend people. Speak your mind! Don't hesitate to tell them the benefits of liberty and natural religion. Confront their superstition. Make them justify their irrationalism. Also, start a blog, a webzine or write letters to the editor of your local paper, and express your views. I also want to encourage readers to check out the World Union of Deists, of which I am a member, run by a courageous and tireless proponent of Deism, Robert Johnson. The WUD can be found at the link to the right of this article. Robert also wrote a book entitled: Deism-A Revolution in Religion, A Revolution in You. The book is sold on Robert's site and is a great introduction to Deism. You can also purchase it on Amazon.com.

Take a step in the direction of natural religion, Deism. Reject revealed religion and enlighten the world!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-67093275497987628932009-03-24T19:57:00.000-07:002009-03-24T20:40:37.131-07:00Deism and Enlightenment-To Save HumanityRecently the American Religious Identification Survey(ARIS)showed that 12% of Americans identify themselves as believing in God, but not from one of the "revealed" religions. Deist Robert Johnson spells it out well in an article he wrote for Strike the Root. You can read his article here http://www.strike-the-root.com/91/johnson/johnson5.html. I would like to compliment his article with one of my own.

Deism, or Natural Religion, as it was once called, is an Enlightenment religion and philosophy of belief in a Divine Creator, but not the one of the "revealed" religions of Christianity, Islam or Judaism. Deism is a religion of reason and rationality. It shows men the way to God is not through ancient books and fables, but through using their own God given reason to attain truth. Deism, outside of a belief in a Divine Creator, has no dogmas, priesthood,or "holy" books to consult. Deism shows the way to God is through your senses and examing his wonderous creation. The Earth and all of it's animal and plant life are intricately organized, the solar system with it's heliocentric organization, and the vastness of the Universe all point to a Divine Architect. Some Deists believe in Pantheism, holding the view that the Universe itself is alive and sacred.

Deism is also a religion of liberty and rejects fear based religions like Christianity. Many of our Founders and other revolutionaries were Deists. Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Adams, and the great Thomas Paine were all either Deists, or Unitarians. All were for the most part, freethinkers. Most Deists believed in religious liberty, republicanism, freethought, and and the end of state sponsered religion. Most also believed in reforming society by abolishing slavery, monarchy, and establishing democratic republics. This threatened the status quo of monarchy, state churches, nobility, and domination by the wealthy classes. In both the American and French Revolutions, Deists took prominent roles. Thomas Paine participated in both revolutions.

I support the right of all people to believe in any God they wish or no God at all. Civil government should have absolutely nothing to do with religion. Religion is a personal private matter, and when wedded to government it becomes coercive, violent, and seeks to dominate and surpress all religions that are different. Fear based religions destroy liberty and indoctrinate their followers with passivity, deference to authority, and a slave mindset. That being said, I would encourage people to investigate Deism and see for yourself. Robert Johnson's website is by far the best I have found. It is one of the links on this page. Check it out and let's see if we can liberate mankind, mind, body and soul.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-69705195009695550082009-03-17T20:12:00.000-07:002009-03-17T20:13:25.213-07:00The American Revolution-The Most RadicalIn this essay, I will reiterate a truth that I have written about previously. This truth is that the American Revolution was the most radical of the modern revolutions. Yes, forget the propaganda of the consensus school of American historians. Their interpretation is pure fiction. The American Revolution was a libertarian revolution, something statists historians have obscured from most people.

Murray Rothbard's "Conceived in Liberty" four volume set on the American Revolution exposes it's true radicalism. The American Revolution was one of three great revolutions in modern history. First the radical English Revolution of the 17th century, then the American Revolution and finally, the French Revolution. Rothbard points out that all three of these revolutions "blasted loose the Old Order" and paved the way for the "Industrial Revolution". All three in one way or another promoted "separation of church and state",private property, freedom of commerce, and promotion of human freedom

That being said, the American Revolution was by far the most radical of all three. Thomas Paine, the great libertarian, and defender of the both the American and French Revolutions, believed the American Revolution MORE radical than the French, and he actively participated in both in America and France

The American Revolution was born in the radicalism of the English Levellers of the English Revolution of the mid 17th century.Radicals like John Milton, James Harrington, Henry Marten, Richard Rumbold, and John Liliburne led the way for libertarian philosophy. Later, freethinkers like John Locke, John Toland, Matthew Tindal and other freethinkers and deists led the battle in Britain against state-sponsored religion, and led the fight for civil liberty. Conservative, these men were not. Defenders of reason, liberty, freedom of person, and conscience, they led the fight also against monarchy and oligarchy.

We must regain this radical tradition. This tradition led the way to modernity and the improvement of man's lives. Let's not let it die in modern America.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-3502052976353317532009-02-14T12:08:00.000-08:002009-02-14T12:41:35.030-08:00The Tyranny of Romans 13As a follow up to last week's conversation with a religious statist, I am going to look at the reason such a person would give up his own reason and common sense and be so worshipful and obedient to tyrannical authorities. Although it will seem as if I am only picking on Christianity, that is not the case. All monotheistic religions tend toward authoritarianism. Islam, Judaism and Christianity all share the same God, whether Christians want to believe that or not. In a future essay, I will deal with the tyranny of Islam and it's injunction of obedience to government. These essays will not be politically correct.

Here is Romans 13 in it's entirety:

Let everyone obey the authorities that are over him, for there is no authority except from God and all authority that exists is established by God.

As a consequence, the man who opposes authority rebels against the ordinance of God; those who resist thus draw condemnation down upon themselves. Rulers cause no fear when a man does what is right but only when his conduct is evil. Do you wish to be free from the fear of authority? Do what is right and you will gain it's approval, for the ruler is God's servant to work for good. Only if you do wrong ought you to be afraid. It is not without purpose that the ruler carries the sword; he is God's servant, to inflict his avenging wrath upon the wrongdoer. You must obey then, not only to escape punishment but also for conscience sake. You pay taxes for the same reason, magistrates being God's ministers who devote themselves to his service with unremitting care. Pay each one his due: taxes to who taxes are due; toll to whom toll is due; respect and honor to everyone who deserves them.

This is the doctrine of the Divine Right of Kings, which kept millions enslaved until the American and French Revolutions broke the door for rebellion wide open. According to the Bible, the Founders and all who rebelled against the English king were not only traitors, but condemned to Hell! This is a doctrine of slavery. It places government, which has nothing to do with God, on a pedestal. If you really wanted to be strict about it, this must mean that the Russian Czars, Hitler, Napoleon, Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc, were appointed by God! What a contrived ideal. This ideal only serves the state and ruling elites! Reject this doctrine.

I am a Taoist. I follow the ideal that there is a cosmic mystery, but that God, is within you. God and evil are within you, real truth does not come from the outside, but from within. I do not say this to convert you to my belief system, I only say this to show you that not all religious beliefs are tyrannical and irrational. You must find your own truth. One truth, I think all human beings share deep down is a desire to be free and a love of liberty. Embrace this desire and make the world a better place.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-5412255993053235552009-02-08T07:35:00.000-08:002009-02-08T08:28:27.230-08:00Conversation with a Religious StatistRecently, I had a conversation with a religious statist. We were talking about the current economic mess we were in. He, of course is a religious conservative, Republican, and believer in a "strong" government. He informed me that the reason we are in such bad shape is because Americans have "rejected" God. He further related that in retribution, God was placing evil men in power to govern us. Since I am a rationalist and a Deist, I of course, have a differing opinion. I related to him that I thought America needed a peaceful revolution and organized resistance to government taxes, and banking policies, that were destroying the livelihood of Americans and their children.

I pointed out that we were under no obligation to be slaves to our government, that they don't own us, and that each person has a natural, unalienable, right to his or her own life. He was in disagreement to say the least. He became somewhat angry, calling me an "anarchist". He told me that government "rulers" and "authorities" are appointed by God,biblical verse Romans 13, to rule over mankind. Alas, this is the slave mentality of the Divine Right of Kings. He also said that although he "doesn't like taxes", As Jesus instructed we must render unto Caesar what is his. He also related that "rebellion" against government is a rebellion against God himself!

This, my friends, is the slave mind of the religious believer. Taxation is a form of slavery. Governments are not appointed by God, but run by men and used to acquire more and more power unto themselves. When I told him this, he abruptly left me and ended the conversation. What offended him the most was when I asked him about the American Revolutionaries revolting against the British king. He said that the American Revolution was a "Christian" upheaval. Well,it wasn't,and you can't have it both ways. Rebellion is rebellion, and according to his Bible, the Founders and all who participated in the Revolution were rebelling against God and were condemned to Hell for all eternity. This is pure nonsense, but it is what we are up against today in America.

Irrationality, fear, and passive obedience are what are inculcated by traditional religious belief. This unholy trinity has caused many Americans to be soft, fearful and unwilling to defend their liberty. As a tolerant individualist, I believe one can believe whatever one wishes to, no matter how irrational I think it may be. That being said, recognize that if America is turned into a dictatorship during the current crisis, these religious zealots will be the governments' biggest supporters...in the name of God.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-22618603411213894592009-02-02T15:01:00.000-08:002009-02-02T15:21:10.884-08:00Statist Oppression LotteryNow that President Obama and his Democratic socialists have put forward their plan to add almost 900 billion dollars to the National Debt,we can see who will benefit from what has been called the Statist-Oppression Lottery. This phrase is from the great radical website, Nation of Liberty. What the phrase defines is the special interest lottery of lobbyists, corporations, and other assorted political whores who are feeding off the public. Since October 2008, the banking industry has stolen over 1 trillion dollars in taxpayer money. President Bush and his lackey, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, pushed the case that without the 700 billion dollar bailout, America was doomed. This was a lie. America is doomed anyway. The money stolen by Wall Street was only to bail out fat cats and big banks that made bad loans and poor business decisions. It is the biggest redistribution of wealth in the history of the world, this time from the poor to the rich. Robbery at it's finest.

This is what is meant by the Statist-Oppresion Lottery. Wealthy interests use the power of government in the form of taxation, to steal money from citizens. It is a sickening fraud that is only going to get worse. President Obama is going to also pursue this line of fraud. He is in the back pocket of the elite and fully intends to back their play.

This Statist-Oppression Lottery is going to be very painful. Be prepared for an astronomical rise in taxes, high inflation, high unemployment and a Depression. You can thank the elitists of America for the Statist-Oppression Lottery.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-29557469644499618642009-01-24T16:09:00.000-08:002009-01-24T16:44:22.009-08:00Agorist SocietyIn light of the recent plundering of the American people by Wall Street, I have come to embrace full Agorist left libertarian theory. Although I have always sympathized with agorism, I never fully embraced it. I have now. I just recently re-read the New Libertarian Manifesto by Samuel E. Konkin. Konkin outlines a society of total liberty and market anarchism with no official state. He develops the revolutionary theory of undermining the current corrupt statist world we live in by what he calls grey and black markets. These markets bypass the traditional state by by refusing to participate in the system of taxes, regulations, and laws. Instead arbitration, mediation and restitution is encouraged to develop a new paradigm.

Before you become shocked by my embracing a form of revolutionary anarchism, let me clarify. I am not advocating the mindless, nihilistic, left wing anarchist block that beats people, and destroys private property. What I am embracing is the power of markets and the end of the coercive power of the centralized state. Anarchism, especially in small societies is quite possible. In this agorist anarchist society, you can associate however you like. Voluntary socialist communes, individual "off the grid" living, and normal city style living is all acceptable. What is paramount is freedom and liberty.

Agorism is much better than what we currently have. The old libertarian republic of Jefferson is dead. We live in an Empire. The Empire will fall some day, probably sooner than we think, and something must fill the void. Statist communists, fascists, and bureaucratic elites will be scrambling to reconstitute the Empire, each in their own way. We must be prepared to fill that void with either agorist anarchism, several new libertarian republics,or even though a long shot, the old Jeffersonian Republic. I would like advice and cooperation from you, my readers. We need to start now. We need to organize cells of peaceful proponents of liberty, and develop a revolutionary strategy for agorism. I welcome any and all constructive comments. In future essays, I will explore agorism in it's entirety. We will compare it with Marxism, Fascism, and Conservatism.

In the mean time, pay attention to the news. 2009 is going to be a very rough year. Look for more devastation in the economic realm. Look for inflation, deflation, and larger and larger unemployment. Prepare yourself. Pay off any or if you can, all debt. Also pay specific attention to the increasing power of the Federal government. The Federal government is the biggest threat to our liberty. The new Emperor, President Obama, has proposed spending 1.2 trillion dollars to "save" the economy. He wants to create a new "New Deal" as FDR did during the Great Depression. This is exactly what should not be done. We must prepare ourselves. Tough times are ahead. As for now, in the slogan of the agorist movement AGORISM, ANARCHY, ACTION, NOW!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-49142581307806399372009-01-19T06:25:00.000-08:002009-01-19T06:39:03.217-08:00The Coronation of the EmperorSorry, I haven't posted in a while. Family business to attend to. Now that things have slowed down, I'm back. This essay will be short and to the point, but my future ones will get into some more heavy issues and historical topics.

Well, tomorrow is the coronation of the new Emperor. The pomp, parades, glitter, celbrities (royalty), etc all for one man. A disgusting display in a supposed democratic republic. Perfect for an empire. 2009 is going to be a bad year folks. I hate being the bringer of bad news, but it is. If you think the economy is bad now, just wait until Emperor Obama and the Imperial Congress get done with more bailouts and inflated fiat money. I fully expect the US National Debt to balloon to well over 20 trillion before Obama leaves office in eight years. Yes, eight years, because I fully see him being re-elected by the serfs.

Prepare yourself for more government tyranny also. I expect to see price controls, bank holidays and possibly a seizure of 401K accounts by the Emperor's Congress. I also expect Emperor Obama will not end the war in Iraq, nor will be get us out of any country we are currently in. I also think a military draft is coming along with Obama's tyrannical civilian "volunteer" corps.

Prepare yourself. Protect your assets, if you can. Invest in precious metals and send your money overseas. Prepare yourself for the Emperor's New Amerika.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-21642619098431301532008-10-17T20:11:00.000-07:002008-10-17T20:41:39.804-07:00Republican Socialism and the End of the RepublicIt's been a while since my last post and quite a bit has happened since then. What has happened is the economic meltdown that has been stalking the US for decades.

What we have witnessed in the last few months is one of the final nails in the coffin of the American Republic. The Democratic Congress and the Republican Executive Branch have committed the US Government to a massive bailout of banks and other supposed capitalist institutions. These wealthy companies and corporations scream and rail against socialism and government intervention, but when the chips are down want to socialize their massive losses due. Of course, the Republicans, the phony state's rights and limited government party, have fully exposed their love of Big Government and their endorsement of state capitalism. Their free market ideology was mainly a fraudulent and crass attempt to make the American sheeple believe they are the Jeffersonian party.

The Republicans have now fully endorsed socialism and the fleecing of the American middle class. Their form of class warfare is exposed. 700 billion dollars are stolen legally from the American people and redistributed to the elite super rich and their financial institutions. This is a redistribution of wealth from the poor and middle class to the rich. Of course there is no constitutional authority for such crimes against the American people, but hey, who cares about the Constitution, right?

This only the beginning, my friends. The American Republic is almost dead. The Empire is now beginning to publicly blossom. The volatility we see in the NYSE is only a prelude to a massive financial disaster that will engulf the not only the US, but the world. Republican socialists, or what they truly are, Hamiltonians, are presiding over the end of the Republic. The Democrats abandoned the Republic long ago. The Republicans have claimed for decades to be the party of limited government, but now they are exposed for what they truly are. Economic statism and fascism is here to stay. What's next, a trillion, 5 trillion, 10 trillion of fiat money to save the elite?

The American Republic, for all it's flaws, was the greatest experiment in libertarian government for and by the people. America has prospered in spite of strong central government, not because of it. Jeffersonian principles in government are dead, except in people like Congressman Ron Paul, or even Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders. Now we must find how to survive the coming calamity. Get out of debt, live frugally, and vote out all the criminals in Congress who voted for the bailout. Maybe, just maybe, we can restore the Republic in the coming years, although I am not optimistic. Beware of the Empire because it is showing it's fangs.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-1116367584015322872008-08-26T07:30:00.000-07:002008-08-26T07:30:00.934-07:00The Radical Revolutionary Tradition, Part 1The United States of America is a constitutional republic born out of a radical revolution in the late 18th century. The US was the first democratic republic since the ancients, Greece and Rome. Our republic was a product of the European and American Enlightenment, it's philosophies, and it's patriots and freethinkers. Unfortunately this great land has abandoned it's revolutionary tradition and embraced the Old World philosophy of war ,realpolitk, and empire. In this essay I will attempt to elucidate and enlighten the reader on our revolutionary past and the benefits of freedom, liberty and republican government over slavery, despotism and empire. Let us begin.

The Intellectual Background

The American Revolution, as opposed to the War of the American Revolution, begun arguably in 1763 with the end of the French and Indian War and the complete domination of North America by the British Empire. The American colonists were a very literate and rural population. In 1765 the Stamp Act caused the opening salvo in the battle for liberty against the British Parliament. In every colony, except Georgia, protests against the act were conducted. Committees were formed to send petitions to Parliament, newly appointed Stamp collectors were threatened, and forced to renounce their offices, and ships carrying English stamps were prevented from landing. Terms like "slavery", "despotism", and "tyranny" were read in colonial newspapers and heard by many colonists from such firebrands as Samuel Adams,
Patrick Henry, and James Otis. Where did these and other revolutionaries find their philosophy?

The American Revolutionary tradition has it's roots in the revolutionary opposition ideology of the 17th century English Revolutions of the 1640's and the Glorious Revolution of 1688. Men like Algernon Sidney, Leveller John Liliburne, Richard Rumbold, and John Locke. Sidney, and Locke were the most influential of all, but the English Levellers , who have been greatly overlooked, also provide a radical tradition against power, monarchy, and feudalism.

Sidney and Locke

Algernon Sidney was an English revolutionary who participated in the English Civil wars of the 1640's. Sidney, in addition to being a libertarian, was a believer in republican government. He was a vocal opponent of the Divine Right of Kings, and in his treatise Thoughts on Government opposed the Divine Right of Kings doctrine as articulated by monarchist,Sir Robert Filmer. Locke's First and Second Treatise on government also refuted the doctrines of Filmer and Hobbes. Both Sidney and Locke knew that men with absolute power usually ended up destroying the liberty of their subjects. Power , as Lord Acton would later say, corrupts ,and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This was the doctrine of Sidney and Locke. Both men were revolutionaries of their era. Sidney's Thoughts on Government cost him his life in 1683 for it's radical doctrine of the right of revolution and opposition to unlimited power. Locke was forced to flee to France to protect himself. Both Sidney and Locke espoused the radical ideal of the right to revolution. People, they argued, have the right and the duty to overthrow tyrannical government.
When government established a tyranny it no longer fulfilled it's proper ends: the protection of the natural rights of the people, and the right of people to pursue happiness. If these ends of government were violated, the social contract was broken and the people were under no obligation to obey such a government. They were in a "state of nature" and assumed the right to create a government that suited their ends and protected their liberty.

The English Levellers

The English Levellers were a group of radicals who participated in the radical English revolutions and civil war of 1645-1649. The Levellers were far ahead of their time in their views of the proper role of government. The Levellers believed that men had an absolute right to the freedom of conscience, and that the civil state should play no role in saving the souls of men. They also believed firmly in the right of men to have personal liberty. They rejected the right of the crown to arrest people without due process, or imprison people indefinitely. They were firm supporters of the abolition of the infamous Star Chamber, a council of the crown which imprisoned opponents of the monarch without legal process, the right to counsel, or jury trial. The Levellers stood fast against such unlawful and tyrannical procedures.

The Levellers also rejected the Divine Right of Kings. They did not believe that the king had a right to rule over his subjects by the grace of God. This rejection was extremely radical. The English aristocracy and clergy opposed such radical views and supported the king's "right" to dissolve Parliaments, and rule without any check on his power. Such views are unfortunately coming back into vogue today with the modern Republican Party demanding obedience to the President, our "leader". Many Levellers were devout Christians, some were rationalists and freethinkers, but all agreed in the freedom of men to worship God according to their own consciences, even Roman Catholics. They believed the state had no role in saving the souls of men. They were opposed by Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell, the Presbyterian clergy, and the royalists and Tories who supported strong government.Unfortunately history has forgotten them and the Tory views of the royalists and aristocrats have portrayed them as a kind of communist style movement. The Levellers were supporters of assisting the poor, the downtrodden and providing a free society, but they were anything but communists.

Here are just some of the parts of their program for a new England:

1) abolition of the House of Lords
2) abolition of tithes
3) complete freedom of religion and separation of church and state
4) abolition of monarchy
5) establishment of a republic
6)abolition for imprisonment of debt

These are just a few of their ideals. These ideals heavily influenced the American and French revolutionaries. Thomas Jefferson possessed several Leveller tracts in his library, and was distantly related to the great Leveller John Lilburne. One Leveller, Henry Marten was also a radical republican and hater of monarchy. Marten served on the court that condemned James I to death. Marten was an unapologetic, libertarian radical who believed that England should be a republic, have no state religion, and have a wide democratic franchise. His views are a precursor to the views of men like Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine. Marten was tried for his partcipitation in the regicide of 1649 when the monarchy was restored in 1660. Most regicides were executed by being hanged, drawn and quartered. Marten valiantly defended himself at his trial and was spared death. He never apologized or renounced his republican views. He was imprisoned in the Tower of London where he died in 1680.
Here is where royalists and modern conservative Tories lie to reconstruct history. It was not the French, but the English who first beheaded their monarch. It was English radicalism that influenced both the American and French revolutionaries. This radical heritage espoused the rights of mankind against arbitrary government, liberty of the individual, the excellence of republican government, the dangers of aristocracy and monarchy, and the tyranny of a union of church and state. THIS IS OUR HERITAGE! Do not believe the lies of neoconservatives, leftists, Christian Right fanatics or any other groups that promote the fraud of the "conservative" American Revolution, or it's historical background. We must become conservatives in a true sense. A conservative that "conserves" the libertarian radicalism of our forefathers, and their forefathers.

As you can see there is distinct linear heritage of radicalism from the English revolutionaries and their ideals to the American Revolutionaries in the struggle against the Tory English government. It is clear that this heritage is in complete contradistinction from the false neoconservative and Christian Right view. It also totally refutes Marxist and leftist propaganda that the American Revolution was conservative. Both camps view of the American Revolution as conservative or just a simple rebellion are totally false.

The Scottish Enlightenment

Adam Smith, Francis Hutcheson, , Thomas Reid and Henry Home , Lord Kames, are the primary leaders of the radical Scottish Enlightenment. This part of the Enlightenment contributed greatly to the radicalism of both the American and French Revolutions.

Adam Smith

Normally known to all as a philosopher of free trade and capitalism, he was also a profound political and moral philosopher. Smith was a powerful advocate for free trade and the free exchange of goods with minimal government interference. He advocated peaceful trade between individuals and nations, and was opposed to monopolies in commerce, such as the East India Company. Smith opposed all forms of mercantilism and state managed economy. What will surprise many libertarians is that Smith was also a proponent of public education. He felt that a government had an obligation to educate and enlighten the minds of it's citizens. He recognized that an ignorant, poverty stricken populace , like in Britain could never really be free. Smith felt by educating citizens they would be come more public spirited, productive and happy as their knowledge increased. This was shared by men like Jefferson, James Madison, and Benjamin Franklin.

Francis Hutcheson

Hutcheson was the Scottish Enlightenment's moral philosopher. He believed man had a natural moral sense and that human beings were not depraved and decadent as propagated by religionists. Hutcheson also was a firm believer in the right of a people to revolt against tyrannical government, and to overthrow their oppressors. Jefferson had several of Hutcheson's writings in his library and adopted Huutcheson's view of the moral sense as innate in human beings.

This Anglo-American tradition is a gift to not only the United States, but the world. Classical liberalism had it's flaws, but no matter, that is what progress and the progression of history are for. The classical liberals built this great tradition and it is ours to improve upon, as we have over the last two, almost three centuries. Let us move on to Part II.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-48172893850080131612008-07-17T07:47:00.000-07:002008-07-17T07:48:00.112-07:00Economic MeltdownWell, the economic future of the United States is looking dire. This week's bailout proposals of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the failure of IndyMac Bank have shown the perils of fiat money and central banking. Since the days of Alexander Hamilton, the wealthy have wanted a central bamk in the US. In 1836 Andrew Jackson destroyed the second Bank of the United States. From then until 1913 the United States had no central bank.It is also no coincidence that this period was a period of unsurapassed economic growth. Unfortunately the US never learned it's lesson. Now we are reaping the harvest from the evils of central banking, easy credit, and inflation and deflation.

Folks, we are headed for some very rough and ominious times. I believe we will see a depression that will dwarf the Great Depression of the 1930's. As the banks meltdown, so will the rest of the US economy. It will have a domino effect that will wipe out the savings and money of the middle class. Already the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is asking for permission to change it's rules and pay bank customers only 10 cents on the dollar or 10% of the money they have in the bank under 100,000. Currently, the FDIC is required to pay up 100,000 per account. Now they are asking to basically eviscerate the life saving of millions of depositors.

This is pure fraud and we have only seen the beginning of it. Experts are predicting $200.00 oil by this time next year, and the possibility of a depression in the coming future. The economic house of cards that the US economy is built on is starting to collapse. When it fully collapses and hits rock bottom, the US will be thrown into a world of chaos and political darkness. I have no doubt that martial law, and the virtual, if not actual, abolition of many of our constitutional liberties. The Fourth and Fifth Amendments are already under attack daily. The new FISA wiretapping law, rendition, and the push for war in the Middle East are just a few examples.

Americans need to wake up. If they do not the liberties Americans hold dear will be gone! Protect yourself and prepare for the worst.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-17644607044122291482008-07-06T12:36:00.000-07:002008-07-06T12:44:18.594-07:00Self Defense and the Breakdown of Society
If things keep going the way they have been: destruction of the Constitution, perpetual war, growing domestic tyranny, and economic collapse, the end of the American Republic will be complete. As the republic dies two things will happen. First, massive crime, and gangsterism will rule the day, Second, the political void will be filled by some despotic regime. It is the criminal gangsterism and how to defend yourself from it that this article is about.

Suppose America breaks down into chaos as described in Thomas Chittum's chilling book " Civil War II: The Breakdown of America". Gangs, racial violence and strife, brutal poverty, and starvation become the norm. How does one protect yourself, family and community from such horror. As a libertarian, I believe every individual should be prepared, and that every neighborhood and community should band together voluntarily and create defense associations and committees to fight roaming gangs and criminals. Let us begin.

We will number and list some of the things that need to be done.

1) All neighborhoods need to form themselves into defense associations for the collective purpose of defending themselves. Elect a committee, the size varies due the size of the neighborhood, of at least 10 people.

This committee should attempt to contact and form defense agreements with other towns and cities. The job of the committee is to prepare for attacks from roaming gangs.

2) The committee should require all able bodied men over 16 to be armed. Regular patrols should be set up around the town at all ingress and egress points. Armed patrols should also be posted to guard food and water supplies since these will be in hot demand if a Katrina like situation occurs.

3) Citizens should be committed (voluntarily)to pooling their resources such as food, water, fuel, transportation, and communications devices to help in protecting the whole.

4) Radio, TV and Internet ( if functioning) broadcasts should be monitored daily around the clock to keep the people alert for any new developments.

5) All citizens should be prepared to use firearms and other defensive measures. Places like Rwanda, Croatia, and Haiti are prefect examples of defenseless and sheep like actions and reactions to violence. The will to survive should be Paramount.

6) The Defense Committee should meet weekly and if necessary, daily, to prepare everyday operations.

7) Free trade with other towns, if possible, should be established to obtain the supplies needed. The American Revolution is a good example of this.

Now here are a list of the items you should have in preparation for such an event.

1) Firearms. You must have weapons to defend yourself. Preferably rifles, shotguns and always, handguns. Train with them. Be familiar with them.

No how to clean and take the weapon apart.

2) Food. Start stocking up now. Canned food, dried goods, fuel, water, and clothing. You should also buy a generator.

3) Transportation. Have a working vehicle. Although fuel will be very difficult to come by, a vehicle could save your life if overun by tyrannical government forces or gangsters.

4) Radio. Have a working radio. This could prove invaluable to you for intelligence gathering.

5) Valuables for barter. Cash, ie, paper money, will be more than likely worthless, so have items of value to barter with other families and defense associations. What to barter could include food, water, tools, weapons, books, radios, etc. Just about anything can be bartered if it has a useful purpose.

I am not trying to be an alamist, but the talk of war with Iran,200.00 a barrel oil, the liquidation of the real estate market, and the erosion of our liberties makes preparation not just necessary, but imperative. The breakdown of this wonderful nation has been planned by elites for decades. This once free democratic republic was a bastion of liberty and a middle finger to elitists and royalists. The hatred that the elites from the time of the American Revolution has not abated, only become more stealth like.

Please organize. People with skills like self defense, law enforcement or military training, organizational/managerial, and public relations will be needed if small communities are to survive the coming depression.

In my next post we will explore the rapid decline of the USA in the last 18 months.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-37468546092902338282008-03-25T15:41:00.000-07:002008-03-25T16:07:47.473-07:00Big Government ConservatismThe Republican Party is the party of Big Government. Simple as that. Under George W. Bush we have seen the largest increase in federal spending, surpassing Lyndon Johnson's Great Society of the 1960's. "Compassionate Conservatism", whatever that is, has seen the national debt increase to almost 10 TRILLION dollars. Now, there is enough blame to go around, but under this President, the spending has been insane.

Republicans have lost their way. Barry Goldwater conservatism is dead. Goldwater believed in frugal government, states rights, individual liberty, and decentralized government. The crackpots and fascists who run the Republican Party have long thrown Goldwater under the bus, running over his ideals in the process. Let's look at some of the "achievements" of the Bush administration:

An insane war costing billions by the day and slaughtering Americans and Iraqis. War always centralizes government to it's highest levels. Usually it is a pretext to do so.

The No Child Left Behind Act- an unconstitutional law that usurps state powers and foists an unfunded federal mandate on the states.

a four TRILLION dollar increase in the national debt, further bankrupting our nation.

Opposition to states rights in such cases as medical marijuana, euthanasia, gun control, and the blatantly unconstitutional intervention in the Terry Schiavo case.

Support for the destruction of habeus corpus in the USA

Support for secret wiretapping by federal agents on American citizens without a warrant

Mandated marriage counseling during divorce proceedings

The blatantly unconstitutional "Office of Faith Based Initiatives"

Massive increases in federal education spending

Massive increases in federal medicare spending

Opposition to state environmental laws (California's fuel standards)

Support for CAFTA and other international "free trade" treaties that usurp the sovereignty of individual state government's as well as the federal government.

The list goes on and on. As I obtain more info, I will post more of the treason against the Constitution and our liberties from this wing of the corrupt political establishment.

Remember neoconservative fascist William Bennett referred to himself as a "Hamiltonian", and related " I'm no libertarian". So much for limited government.

He is proud to be a believer in the ideals of Mr. Hamilton I am sure: state religion, massive subsidies for business, aristocracy, and monarchy in the form of near worship of George Bush.

Reject these "conservative" phonies. Vote Libertarian.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11404297.post-71529151980561681772008-02-13T13:13:00.000-08:002008-02-13T13:14:03.164-08:00Democratic Libertarianism, Part 1The Democratic Party is the oldest active political party in the world. It traces it's inception from the first party battles of the 1790's between the Federalists and the Jeffersonian Republicans. Up to the American Civil War the Democratic Party, with the exception of slavery, was known as the "liberal" party of America. It was the party of the common people. It stood for opposition to corporatism, artificial privilege, and aristorcracy and for free trade, liberty and self government.
After the Civil War the Democratic Party became co-opted by big government socialists and statists giving us the current state it is in today. Opposing the Democrats were the Federalists, who later became the Whigs. who stood for aristocracy, big money and big business, corporate dominance and big government. The Whigs later morphed into the Republican Party of today, a bastion of conservatism and corporatism. The Democrats and Republicans, for the most part are the same forces that have existed throughout history. As Jefferson pointed out " Serviles and Liberals", "Aristocrats and Jacobins", "Democrats and Monocrats" have existed as opposites throughout history. One the supporters of the people and the other of privilege and power.

The Democratic Party is no longer the party of Jefferson or Andrew Jackson, but is there hope for Libertarians to return it to it's roots? I am not sure, but there is no hope for the Republican Party. The Republican Party has proven to be a fascistic party not responsible to the people nor concerned with the cause of liberty. The Bush Administration has assaulted the liberties of the American people for seven years and evicerated the Bill of Rights. Forget the Republican Party my libertrarian friends.

Although I am a devoted Libertarian, I must ask again, can we return the Democratic Party to it's libertarian roots? I think so. Here's what we need to see as a start:

Unwavering support for the Bill of Rights
Ending the War on Drugs
Ending the War in Iraq
Ending all corporate welfare and subsidies
Repeal of the income tax
Abolition of the IRS
Ending all taxes on Social Security income
Ending all taxes on unemployment benefits
Repeal of the 2005 Bankruptcy Protection Act
Abolition of the Federal Reserve System
Ending all federal deficit spending
Passing a Balanced Budget Amerndment

These items would be the beginning of returning the Democratic Party to it's libertarian and Jeffersonian roots.

I am not a Randian libertarian worshiping property and the market. I believe the ability to own property to be a basic human liberty, but not the most important. I agree with James Madison that a man has "property in his rights" meaning speech, religion, movement, and his pursuit of happiness. It is these ideals that the Democratic Party once stood for. The Randian worship of the market economy has become a cult like religious belief. Nothing is perfect, not the market, society or government.

Supporting the Common Man

The middle class of America make up the bulk of our society. They determine it's morals, economics, and culture. They pay the majority of the bills, taxes and sacrifice their sons in wars for their country. Jefferson and his Democratic-Republican party were the true friends of the middle classes or "yeomanry" as Jefferson called them. Opposing the Jeffersonians were the Federalists who represented big business, the aristocracy of the cities, and as arch Federalist Fisher Ames called them the "rich, wise and well born". The Federalist policies did not benefit the masses. High taxes, a new standing army, subsidies for big business, were part of the class warfare program of the Hamiltonian program. The Federalists exist today as the Republican Party.

For too long Libertarians have allowed the corporate Randian mindset to dominate it's views on economics and liberty. Although I agree with Rand on some issues, I believe the Jeffersonian ideal of liberty to be the best articulation of freedom for a society. Modern libertarian ideals are in many ways at variance with Jeffersonian Democracy. Many libertarians espouse hatred of democracy. They prattle on that we are a "republic not a democracy" and that Benjamin Franklin once said "Democracy is two wolves sitting down to discuss how to eat the sheep" something that is not listed in any of his writings. Let's address the "republic not a democracy". Partly correct. The United States is a republic. In Latin republic means " the public thing" or res publica. It is also true that the Founders did not create a gigantic national democracy in the Greek city state ideal which would be impossible. They DID create a federal democratic republic consisting of state republics. They rejected a monarchy, aristocratic republic, or oligarchy. America is what Jefferson called a "representative democracy" where representatives are democratically elected to represent their interests. Many libertarians and conservatives rail against democracy and claim it is the source of all our problems. Not true. What would they prefer? Anarcho-Capitalists would prefer a monarchy or feudal government. Talk about the Dark Ages. Conservatives love the current corporate despotism, and many libertarians love the market and nothing else.

America is run not by a democracy but by a corrupt aristocracy consisting of corporations, wealthy politicians, and special interests DESPITE our democratic ideals. The two party oligarchy in Washington, DC is the true culprit.

It is my belief that we must ressurect the Democratic ideals of Jeffersonianism: free trade ( not NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO, which are statist globalist schemes), decentralized government, support for the common man through lower taxes, ending corporate welfare, opposition to special interests in government, curtailment of the military industrial complex, support for the Bill of Rights, and encouragement of democracy at the local level.

In Part 2, we will lay out more fully a Democratic-Jeffersonian program.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2
